Church History
In late August 1998, a church was organized in Jeanerette, La. by Rev. Ivory Ledet Jr. This church that was organized was built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ and not meaningless traditions and rituals. During this time, "Second Missionary Batist Church " was selected as the name for the organization. Following the lead of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Ivory held a twenty one day revival during which the name was changed to "Jubilee Nation Christian Ministries"; a name chosen to remind the enemy that we have determined to take back and keep what is given and promised to us by God. In July 1999, Elders Ivan & Sheila Ledet assumed the role of Pastors and were installed in September 1999. From there they began to seek and receive directions from the Holy Spirit in the route he wanted us as a church to go. In the month of March 2000, Jubilee Nation Christian Ministries was incorporated with the same purpose the founders created it for (with the vision of developing a place where people of all races and social backgraounds can come together and worship the Lord. To take the individual differences and bring the church body through spiritual rehabilitation, in order that it may learn how to operate together and live a jubilant life). On Sunday, September 28, 2008 Pastors Ivan & Sheila along with the members of JNCM opened up their second location in the city of Lafayette, La. thus becoming "One Church in two locations". |
