What We Believe We believe and teach six tenets that comprise the fundamentals of our faith.
1. Inspiration - 2 Tim 3:16 We believe that all scripture is inspiried by God. If you can't believe all of it, how can you believe some of it?
2. Virgin Birth - Luke 1:26-35 We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin. Without the virgin birth, Jesus would be an ordinary man. If you can't believe his miraculous conception, then His life, death, and resurrection mean nothing.
3. Diety of Christ - John 1:1-2, 14 Philippians 2:6-8 We believe that Jesus is fully God, yet fully man. Except for the virgin birth, He would not be God. Except for Mary's role, He would not be fully man. Unless He were both, He could not have experienced and overcome sin as a man and provided the perfect sacrifice for it as God. Hebrews 4:15
4. Atonement - Ephesians 1:6-7, Hebrews 9:22 We believe the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ for the atonement of our sins. Without the sacrifice of Jesus' blood, we would be hopelessly lost. If God could have provided salvation any other way, He certainly would have, but He knew it required the blood of His Son. Hebrews 9:12
5. Resurrection - Luke 24:1-8 We believe that Jesus literally and physically came out of the grave. He was dead, and then He was alive. If we can't believe in His resurrection, what did His death accomplish? Also, what hope do we have of being resurrected ourselves to join Him in heaven. 1Thessalonians 4:1-17
6. Second Coming - John 14:2-3, Hebrews 9:28 We believe that Jesus will visibly come back to clam His bride, the church. We must look with expectancy for our Savior to return and redeem us from the sin- marred world we now live in. Revelation 1:7 |
